Desalination plant solutions are designed to convert seawater, brackish water, or other high-salinity water sources into clean and reliable freshwater by removing dissolved salts, suspended solids, and other impurities. The treatment process is tailored to the feed water characteristics and the
required product water quality for industrial, process, utility, or potable applications.
For seawater applications, Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) is typically used as the main desalination process to remove most dissolved salts and contaminants. Where lower salinity or higher product water quality is required, Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) can be added as a secondary polishing stage.
The overall system may also include suitable pretreatment and post-treatment processes to protect the RO membranes, maintain stable operation, and ensure the final water quality meets the intended application.
Potable water treatment generally begins with pre-treatment to remove suspended solids, turbidity, and other impurities using processes such as clarification or dissolved air flotation (DAF). It is then followed by media filtration, such as sand filter, activated carbon filter, and DMI media for iron and manganese removal, to improve water clarity and overall quality. Final disinfection, such as chlorination or UV, is applied to ensure the water is safe for consumption.
Process water treatment begins with pre-treatment and filtration to reduce suspended solids and protect downstream equipment. Depending on the required water quality, advanced treatment technologies such as ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (STRATA-GX), or mixed bed polishing are used to remove dissolved salts, hardness, and other contaminants. Final disinfection, such as chlorination or UV, is applied if needed. This ensures the treated water meets specific process requirements and supports stable plant operation.
